Google Apps is an online service for using domain names for email services and Office and productivity suites.  The Standard Edition is free and offers the same amount of storage as the GMail accounts. The Education Edition combines the Standard and Premier editions. The Education Edition is available at no cost for accredited educational institutions. The benefit of using Google Apps is that the users can access and modify their work at any computer that meets the system requirements of Google Apps. This feature is convenient for teachers who bring their work home as they will no longer have to port their work from their home computer to the school’s computer system.
